Hi everyone,

Could you please let me know what does this sentence mean in practice ?

" novel extension on the pipeline of New Tuxedo article"

Shall I change the algorithmic aspects of the paper or I do some more extra analysis such as non-coding rna analysis.

Any single help with examples would be very appreciated.

Some more information would be useful. Are you proposing to do this "extension" or you have already done this and are trying to publish? Assuming tuxedo is referring to tophat/cufflinks pipeline.

I am supposed to do some "novel extension" on the "New Tuxedo " (Hisat,StringTie,Ballgown) paper pipeline.

If you have specific ideas the post them to see if they would be worthwhile doing. Would be hard to recommend anything for anyone since we don't know what kind of expertise you have.

I actually do not understand what they ask me to do. Algorithmic development of a paper is not straightforward as well.

Is benchmarking on the Hisat vs different aligners counts as a novel extension on the pipeline for example ?

No. But if it is acceptable to the requester then you could do it.

You should ask for clarification from whoever asked you to do this.
