Hi everyone,

So I am about to graduate from college and have just decided that I want to get into the field of computational biology. I am formerly a Biochem major with some experience with programming (up to Data Structures and Algorithms). I also did well in Physical and Quantum Chem if that helps.

I am working on a bioinformatics research project with a statistics professor at my school, and the field seems to be a much better choice than traditional wet lab biology to me. Thus, I am thinking about getting a research assistant/ technician position in a computational biology lab to prepare myself for graduate schools.

Could anyone give me some advice on where I should look for positions like that? I would really appreciate it!

P.s. I am an international student studying in the U.S.

After summers you'd have semester, or do you graduate post summers?
Anyway, it's March mid; you can ask your current professor to help you out to for position in the area of your interests. Second, ask him if he has funds for summers so you can learn more. Third, find labs based on your skills, area of interests and see if they've position for summers.
