Hi All,

Is there a way to find out which type of solvent is efficient in extracting polar metabolites and which type of solvent is efficient in extracting non-polar metabolites?

I would like to know whether there are studies that have documented the variation in the solubility of metabolites(in pathways such as glycolysis,TCA cycle, pentose pathway) in different solvents.

Water is polar, and Chloroform and methanol are non-polar.

This might be found in reference books; like acetone is a very very strong solvent.
