CBS in CNV calling

Can anyone kindly explain how CBS works for calling CNV? Seems like I could not find enough introduction anywhere. Really appreciate

The best place to start would be the 2 main publications that first described the method:

• Circular binary segmentation for the analysis of array-based DNA copy number data
• A faster circular binary segmentation algorithm for the analysis of array CGH data

I believe that this method first gained much focus from the large breast cancer study METABRIC. It is curently implemented via the AROMA project
