EMBOSS msbar stucked

Dear all,

I have lanched EMBOSS' msbar to generate mutations in a genome in the ration of 3.6 million mutations in 42 million bases with the command:

cat <input> | msbar -filter -count 3600000 -point 1 > <output>

The process seems to be running but it has been running for over 8 hours, occupies about 150-180 Mb of memory but does neither reads nor write data:

I doubt anyone can offer a useful answer. Wait and watch is the best I can come up with.
