how to know if a number is specific to a set of genomes. I have the following kmers:

AGAAGAAGA
AAGAAGAAG
AAAAGAAAA
CAGCAGCAG

I want to see if they are unique in the genome

Are you asking the right question? How can you expect such short sequences to be unique in any genomes of reasonable size.

for a nonamer in an unbiased, equally distributed genome, frequency is 4 in a million (0.00000381469). What is the size of genome?
