Pine Biotech and the Louisiana Biomedical Research Network is announcing the start of the Louisiana Biomedical Research Network Bioinformatics Summer Program, starting in June 2018. The program is organized with support from the Tauber Bioinformatics Research Center and the Center for Computation &Technology at the Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
This innovative program will address the major skills gap in processing and analysis of high throughput biomedical data. Using examples from RNA-seq projects in oncology, participants will apply algorithms to quantify gene expression and detect statistically significant variation. Advanced machine learning tools for clustering and classification will be demonstrated using biomedical examples.
This program will use a "deep dive" project-based approach that skips theoretical introduction to quickly introduce the students to the real issues and challenges one faces in a research project. This is possible due to utilization of the popular T-BioInfo platform that provides an intuitive and educational interface for the complex processing and analysis tools (https://server.t-bio.info) as well as online courses (https://edu.t-bio.info).
There are still available spots for this summer (more details: https://edu.t-bio.info/summer-program/).!
