Hi,
I know there are similar posts, but none were really helpful for me. I have finished my MS in Bioinformatics and did not find it helpful for getting jobs; I was supposed to do a student internship as a requirement for my degree but couldn't even find that, (although I did get a few interviews) so I had to do some makeshift research project from home instead. I am thus thinking on doing a Phd as I see no other choice, although I really, really don't want to do that. Are there really so few jobs out there for MS degrees in Bioinformatics?
The other degree I have is BA in Biology and I have no work/research experience, and I am in US. I mainly try looking on Indeed.com for jobs...is there a better way to go about searching? I have not found emailing companies directly helpful.
I appreciate your help
Then you really shouldn't do a PhD.
Already voted this up but I can’t upvote it twice so here’s a comment as wel.

Where are you looking? There are lots of genomics startups and such that are crying out for informaticians right now. I’ve been looking for PostDocs recently and actually the majority of jobs I’ve seen have been informatics instead of wet lab.
Though how far you’ll get with an MS alone I don’t know, most require a PhD or equivalent years experience.
How was your coursework? How's situation with your batch-mates? Is it due to VISA status (work permit) you're having troubles finding job?
No I am US citizen; I don't have contact with others as it was online degree
If you are good in informatics part of bioinformatics, try to get into jobs where there is overlap.
