Hello, I'm trying to using ete3's ncbitaxa to get species-to-genus taxid's. I noticed that there are some taxid that aren't found (e.g.1913078 or 1283312). When checking ncbi website, I notice that they are secondary taxid. Is there anyway that I can still find the genus id for these secondary taxid's?

Thanks!

Is there a way to update the taxonomy for ete3? The NCBI consolidated the taxIDs: "Entry Merged. Taxid 1913078 was merged into taxid 1594576 on July 3, 2018."

Other than that, this is a subspecies rank - maybe you can exclude those. They're even more "volatile" than the whole taxonomy is anyway (with all due respect to taxonomists)
