Hi,
I have a list of genes named beta-actin, ribosomal protein L12 and Ploy(a) binding protein. These genes under any condition tend to be stable in cnidaria and hence can be used as candidate genes to normalize gene expression data (http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0165022X0700156X/%221%22). I have a similar problem where I'm trying to get the proportion/no.of reads of coral in my complex metatranscriptome which has coral rna, endosymbiotic algal rna and corresponding microbial rna, to normalize it to coral immune genes that I'll be looking at in these metatranscriptomes. I was planning on using these cnidarian housekeeping genes mentioned about to get the approximate number of coral genomes in my metatranscriptomes. Could anyone of you suggest a database or direct me to a paper where I can get orthologs for the above mentioned housekeeping genes. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks.
