I am looking for a software that can take SNPs information as input (e.g. a 23andme genomic data file) and haplogroup as output, and ideally with an explanation of the haplogroup.

If such a software does not exist, references to algorithms + databases would be also highly appreciated!

for mtDNA you can use HaploGrep 2 http://haplogrep.uibk.ac.at/ or Phy-Mer https://github.com/MEEIBioinformaticsCenter/phy-mer

for Y chromosome yHaplo https://github.com/23andMe/yhaplo

yhaplo use isogg 2016 as the reference. Updating to 2018 is quite confusing for me. Is there any solution or other similar tool?
