Reference list of cytokines/growth factors

Hi,

The short version of my question is: Does anyone know of any papers or tools to get a reference list of known growth factors or cytokines in murine/human genome?

More detailed explanation: I've recently run a single-cell RNA sequencing of skeletal muscle and am interested in the growth factors that are presented to a certain cell type in my analysis. I have a reference list of ligands that are exposed to my cells of interest, but it includes cytokines/ECM proteins/... . I'm only interested in the cytokines (growth factors). Does anyone know any papers or tools that have created a reference list of known growth factors (cytokines) that I could use to clean up my dataset?

Thanks!

This is likely something that individual researchers working in this particular area will have. On my 'travels', for example, I notice that most researchers maintain their own lists of genes based on literature that they have read. There is also likely some differences in what people regard as a cytokine.

If you wanted somewhere to start, you could use genes regarded as cytokines by Gene Ontology. HERE is a configured search for 1827 genes in Homo sapiens that are listed in Gene Ontology as having a 'cytokine' keyword and that come from UniProtKB.

Another place to look would be KEGG (via Broad Institute's curation): Gene Set: KEGG_CYTOKINE_CYTOKINE_RECEPTOR_INTERACTION.
