JOB TITLE: Postdoctoral Fellow in Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology
LOCATION: Geisinger Medical Center Hospital

RESEARCH GOAL:

To utilize advanced imaging technology, clinical phenotyping and whole exome sequencing in a high through-put manner to perform genome-phenome correlations, disease risk prediction and correlation to outcomes.

CURRENT FOCUS:

  • To correlate cardiac imaging endophenotypes to genomic correlates from whole exome sequencing data.
  • Present disease focus on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and familial hypercholesterolemia.

CLINICAL AND RESEARCH ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work in a team comprised of clinicians, imaging and genomics researchers
  • Multisite image acquisition.
  • Over 100,000 whole exome sequences and growing.
  • Over 15 years of clinical follow up in EMR.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • PhD preferred with a background in Bioinformatics, biological sciences, genomics OR
  • MD, with an interest in genomics or cardiovascular imaging
