Hi all.
Given miRNA-seq data, is there a way to bioinformatically predict the sequence of the pri-miRNAs?
Does anyone reference to a paper with an algorithm (in R or python) for doing this?
And lastly, has anyone experimentally validated that a specific pri-miRNA produces a specific miRNA?
Thanks all.
Anand
To predict pri-miRNA sequence, sequencing data (RNA-seq, histone chip-seq, CAGE-seq and other data) is necessary, and very difficult to predict simply based on DNA sequence. Here is one paper https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26673698 Of course there are other papers which have implemented similar idea to predict pri-miRNA.
