Please add more detail to your question. You haven’t specified what kind of data you want to simulate, what format, for what purpose etc.

The short answer to why we simulate genetic data is for the same reasons we simulate anything: its easier than trying to get hold of real data in most cases.

Thanks for reply. I want to infer demography of ancient human population from sequence data and though I know population genetic a little bit but I am new to this field of simulation. Can you please help me with some literature or book which i can read. Thanks in advance :)
