FASTA is pronounced 'FAST-Aye', then FASTQ is pronounced "FAST-kyoō" ?
FASTA is pronounced 'FAST-Aye', then FASTQ is pronounced "FAST-kyoō" ?
I appreciate this problem: it can be difficult to know how words should be pronounced when you have not heard other people say them. And people do not always agree :-)
Myself, I would say "q as in queue". Regarding FASTA, I usually say "fast-aye" for the alignment software, but "fast-ah" (a short "a", like "cat") for the sequence format.
I've never heard fast-ah used. If FASTP is fast-pee, FASTN is fast-en, then FASTA really has to be fast-ay, and FASTQ must be fast-queue.
I've always heard it pronounced fast-q (q as in queue)

Is there any other way to pronounce fastq besides fast-queue? fast-kwa?
Someone said "fast-ku".
That was probably a German guy not knowing how to pronounce English letters ;-)
