one of the analyses with data from GEO has data in .srr format, they mention it is the expression data, how can i manipulate this to do the microarray analysis with r, is there a way to convert it to something else?

where do these files come from anyway?

Thanks a lot

SRR is a spotreader results file. It is a tab delimited file according to http://www.nilesscientific.com/support.nhtml#export

You might want to download the free trial version of spotreader and see if you can save the .srr as another format.

I found the answer, i used the GEOquery package to import this into R. It loads an ExpressionSet into your Environment. i tried this after getting tired of waiting For Niles Scientific to later find out they are actually out of business.
