biomarker validation of the set of genes

Hi i have a set of genes which can possibly be the biomarker in diabetes.I want to know how to do the wetlab validation of the biomarker gene. or wat are the other possible validation of the biomarker genes? plz help

There's no single strategy that is appropriate for all biomarkers, since for some you might assay an RNA whereas for others it may make more sense to assay a protein or enzymatic activity or something like a lipid content. In general, then, the strategy is to measure something biologically meaningful in a sufficiently large number of patients and matched controls.
