Hi everyone, I have a kinship file computed by KING software which contains 5 columns: ID1, ID2, HetHet, IBS0, Kinship. I also have a fam file but missing the father and mother data for each individuals. Now is there any way to recover the pedigree data from the current data I have? Your help is really appreciated!

Hi,

if you need to reconstruct the pedigrees, have you tried something like PRIMUS (https://primus.gs.washington.edu/primusweb/) ? You can input genetic data as well as IBD estimates.

Or you can figure out the relationship (if you need to simply identify parents) looking at the kinship value (> 0.5 twin/duplicate, > 0.2 PO or Full sib).

Hope this helps.
