Country wise list of bacterial genome sequences

How to get the statistics of all the available bacterial genomes that were sequenced. I need a list of bacterial genomes sequenced from India.

Can anyone help me out with this issue.

This is one answer. It is likely not complete/comprehensive but should provide a start. I will leave it to you yo get the actual list of genomes from the file below.

Download prokaryotic genomes report file from NCBI here.

You can look at the Center field in that file to get a summary of places submitting these genomes.
Note: There is some redundancy because of lower/upper case letters, style of address.

$ awk -F '\t' '{print $17}' prokaryotes.txt  | sort | uniq -c | wc -l
6096
