Hello I'm working on a review-bioinformatics study about role of miRNAs in a common disease. Beside reviewing previous articles i want to predict miRNAs targeting genes involved in this disease. My working pipeline will be choosing genes from Disgenet database. Then i insert identified genes to mirwalk database to acquire predicted miRNAs. then i am gong to choose the miRNAs with highest number of targets from galaxy database. Is it required to validate this pipeline? we aren't going to have experimental study on these miRNAs. is it required to validate these miRNAs with previous studies. Is it required to confirm that predicted miRNAs have been studied previously in experimental articles?

Why choose mirwalk? I recommend you to read this article: Tools for Sequence-Based miRNA Target Prediction: What to Choose? before to perform any unjustified pipeline. It summarizes the most popular and available algorithms for target prediction.
