Merging SNV and DIV vcfs of the same Individual

This feels like it should be something simple, and yet I am having trouble finding what will do it properly. I have a SNV and DIV vcf of the SAME individual that I'd like to merge together into 1 single vcf. So far everything I've tried creates a vcf with 2 columns instead of a new vcf with 1 column for the individual.

What am I missing?

You want to concatenate (add rows), not merge (add individuals). See my answer here.
