Our team at Geisinger health system, Danville, PA is hiring a Full-time Bioinformatics Postdoc or Analyst to work on multiple exciting projects using population scale (n > 150,000 ) exome sequencing and clinical data from Geisinger MyCode participants
This position is partly funded by NIH: RO1 grant.
Qualifications & Experience:
Ph.D. in Bioinformatics or Life sciences, or data science with a strong understanding of the principles of bioinformatics in the biomedical application or related experience and with 1 or more years of related experience. OR Combination of education and/or experience in the above-listed fields.
Experience in the application of Bioinformatics & basic statistics to biological/clinical data.
- Proficiency in understanding biological/biomedical systems and ability to communicate the results verbally and in writing research articles/manuscripts.
- Experience with NGS based methods and GWAS/PheWAS, PRS data analysis is preferred.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as R, Shell, Python, Perl for handling large scale data analysis
- Experience in SQL and Database Management
- Exposure to Machine Learning data analysis is a plus
