Hi All,

How to become a drug target for a gene? or the way for a gene will become a drug target? Is there any bioinformatics pipeline to generate drug target from the whole gene list?

Thanks.

Maybe this is more a philosophical question. The target itself is usually a product of a gene, either a protein or its mRNA. It also need to be tractable and tractability (or druggability) can be defined in different ways. The Open Targets Platform has the batch search tool that can tell you (from a list of genes) how tractable they are, among other things. Potentially all human genome (or proteome) could be drug targets, but we know that many of the proteins are not tractable at all. Besides we need to take into account other factors such as mRNA and protein expression, protein-protein interaction, and many more...

Hey,

You could try Enrichr, which is also an R package.

Also look at Open Targets, which has an API.

CMAP may be another choice.
