I have a S100A1 gene. In NCBI in CDS regions

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/AB195559.1

I got two numbers so it's two cds regions.

CDS join(1..141,224..373)

But that gene has 3 exons:

Will somebody explain to me why, to allay my doubts? I mean why it has 3 exons but only 2 cds?

And If I understand correctly thats 2 cds are just regions from first fasta files located at: 1:141 and 224:37 positions?

LIFE.

One exon doesn' mean that there is an associated CDS. Think about all those non-coding RNA...
