SNPs associated to genes

Hi,

I am looking in different SNPs in Ensemble (VEP), for instance, we have rs799977, and we can see in Ensembl that this SNP is associated with two genes: (GNAT3) with transcript ENSG00000214415, and (CD36) with transcript ENSG00000135218, can someone explain this?

That is because CD36 is located in chr7:80391309-80701011 in the forward strand and GNAT3 in chr7: 80,458,635-80,512,064 in reverse strand. https://www.ensembl.org/Homo_sapiens/Location/View?db=core;g=ENSG00000135218;r=7:80391309-80701011;t=ENST00000435819
