Is GDC server down?

I am trying to use TCGAbiolinks package to analyze miRNA data, but it is saying to me that the server is down. I checked GenomicDataCommons::status() and it responds "Timeout was reached: [api.gdc.cancer.gov] Connection timed out after 10000 milliseconds".
The TCGAbiolinks package was installed by devtools::install_github('BioinformaticsFMRP/TCGAbiolinks'). So I think the GDC server is really down. Anyone have some information about it?

Check https://api.gdc.cancer.gov/status It reports OK for me so it could be something on your side.

I had this error and was also unable to browse to portal.gdc.cancer.gov. The problem turned out to be that I had my ethernet settings set to MTU:Jumbo instead of MTU:Standard.
