How do I embed licence information in a VCF file?

I have a small VCF file that I am distributing as a demo for software use. The author would like the data in the file to be publicly usable, but with acknowledgement if it is reused. I'd like to distribute it under the MIT licence. Is there any convention about how to specify this in the file metadata? I can't see anything obvious about licensing the data within a file in the VCF specification at http://samtools.github.io/hts-specs/VCFv4.2.pdf

You are free to put whatever information you want into the header ## (info...)

Thanks. I was wondering if there is any convention for how to add it, keywords to use, etc. Are there any large projects that do this?

I personally have never seen licences in files itself. Why not just put all the files into a folder and add a license file like people do it when distributing software?

Thanks for the comment about not having seen licences in the files. I could separate out this single file into its own folder and add a licence, but it seems a bit excessive for a single file, and it also seems likely that the file could get moved/copied without the licence, so easier to track if the data is embedded. Guess I'll just use the ##(info..) field
