How to make blast+ 2.2.26 works in a Mac?

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to do blast for the denovoassembay results, I don't have access to supercomputer and looking for a way that I can do it in my Mac, any suggestions?

Thank you so much, I was trying to use that version because CyVerse have the app for this version, although when I wanted to create a database it failed, and when I contacted them, they said that " if you want to run BLAST against nr nt databases, please check bigger compute resources such as Jetstream, TAMU." I will try to use the newest version that you recommend.

Do you specifically need this version? If so, you can find the link to download it here. It seems there is a version for Mac.

But you can also download the latest version 2.10.0 here.

What you need to do is to unzip it and then use a terminal to use the tools in the "bin" folder inside the blast folder. I'm on Windows and that's how I do it, but it should be the same for Mac.

Here is the manual, even if I think it is not really user friendly.
