IGV browser memory leak?

Hello,

I am using IGV 2.8.2 for Linux (Ubuntu 18.04 here) to view some bam files. I have a reference bam of 20 Go and other little bams of a few Go each. I changed the -Xmx parameter in the igv.sh script to 50g -Xmx50g

However, I run into "memory is low" warning. Is it normal/ expected that 50 Go of ram is not enough to see a 20 Go bam file + a sample bam of a few Go?

To view the BAMs you don't need to extend your memory, IGV will look into the BAM and extract the reads for the location you are visualizing.
