We just added a new section to the site called Tools

We designate this section to announcements regarding bioinformatics software tools, both new and old.

To create a new post in this section Click on New Post then select Tool from the Post Type menu.

One post for each new version? Just major releases, also minor releases?

I would keep related info as anwers/comments or even edit the main post - but it all depends.

Is it bad form to add one's own tools? Or is this to be encouraged?

I would love to have authors contribute their own tools

Could you generate an RSS feed for this section?

Is there a regularly updated list of all existing tools maintained anywhere, which can be accessed after filtering it with particular tag? That would be of more use, no?

This one is pretty old but still find it suitable here.

this is a new section so we have yet to work out exactly how it should be presented - all options are on the table

yeah i know. just want to drag others(power users, i guess) attention so that they can actually pinpoint on how this section should work, it should be of some assistance rather than mere a list. Thank you anyways for opening this section, will definitely reduce questions on what all tools available-how to use-context relevance etc. =)

yes, that is what I am after, to have a place to point to when a tool comes up.
