What's the relation between species colinearity and phylogeny

Hi,

I'm curious about the relationships between different genome colinearity and its phylogeny. If the two species share a very high collinearity, does it mean that they have a closer relationship, that is, the two branches on the phylogenetic tree are closer? If the two species are closely related on phylogenetic tree, does it mean that their genomes have a high collinearity?

If by colinearity you mean synteny, then there's a relationship with phylogeny. Synteny is sometimes used to refine phylogenetic trees. See Phylogenetic Reconstruction Based on Synteny Block and Gene Adjacencies for a recent example.
