How Do I Convert Hg19 Gvf To Hg18 Gvf Using Ucsc Liftover Tool

Hi,

I am trying to convert GVF files from hg19 to hg18 version using liftover tool. However liftover gives only in GFF/GTF format. But this output is not relevant to me as the further analysis I have to do is on GVF format.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks..

There is an alternative for liftover. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/genome/tools/remap

Different alignment strategy and additional remapping parameters.

Long story short, there is no alternative to liftover, you have to make do with what you have.
