GO and C++

i was wondering about your opinions please : are many people in bioinformatics / computational biology community writing in GO language instead of using (for example) C++ ? thank you :)

seqkit by Shenwei is written in GO. It is fast, useful and performant.

No, at least when it comes to publicly shared programs. On average I install 1-2 software packages per week, and I needed Go once in the past 5 years.

yes, I was thinking in the same way ; i was just wondering about the fresh new trends when people develop and implement new algorithms.

I also have the same situation, I am aware of Go but never used/seen, I have C, C++, Java, Python, Perl, R for regular use.

I have the impression that GO is more and more used in bioinformatics. I recently used ALLHIC for scaffolding written last year, it is in GO.
