Trying to compile the software seqoutbias with cargo within a conda environment

Hi, I'm kind of new withc compilation of software and I have encountered a problem I cannot solve, hope someone can help.

So, I'm trying to follow the instructions to compile the sofware, with "cargo build --release"

This is from inside a conda environment. I'm getting the error "error: linking with /miniconda3/envs/seqoutbias/bin/x86_64-conda-linux-gnu-cc failed: exit code: 1"

Can anybody help?
