Hello Dear Biostars,
I would like to ask biology here. If a gene from tissue A shows a correlation with the gene in tissue B, does that tell something that both tissues might have a connection for some function?
The data type is gene expression(RNA seq).
Best,
Amare
Not really, if the gene is involved in some generic metabolic pathway or not defined function, the correlation is not showing any similar function. In contrast, if the gene is part of a specific response or pathway could say that the function is shared, but I would expect more than one gene to be correlated to get that conclusion.
@JC, thanks!
Actually, I have a few genes in both tissues that showed pair correlation. However, this correlation then does not show any cross-talk?
Best,
Amare
