This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Data Scientist to join the Big Data Institute to comprehensively characterise prostate cancer disease subtypes. This exciting position will be based in the Big Data Institute, under the direction of Dr Dan Woodcock.
You will apply and develop cutting-edge machine learning and statistical methods to integrate and analyse genomic, transcriptomic, methylomic and clinical data provided by the PanProstate Cancer Group (PPCG). You will develop new methods for integrative feature extraction and selection that can reveal patterns in the data that are informative of clinical outcomes or altered biological mechanisms.
You will carry out data processing, integration, analysis, presentation and interpretation of multi-omic and clinical data as well as develop informatics structures to manage large datasets, including the organisation of data storage and repository solutions that meet current publishing standards.
You will hold or be close to completion of a PhD/DPhil in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or related disciplines. You would be expected to have a good understanding of advanced data integration and feature extraction methods as well as exemplary programming skills in Python.
