Hi community- I want to download and analyse the WGS metagenomic sequence data from specific body site (e.g., saliva, stool, etc) that have been stored in the HMP portal repository. But, or the analysis I need the metadata of the samples containing the following information:

  1. Age
  2. Sex
  3. BMI
  4. Co-morbidity
  5. Average Read Length etc.

can anyone please tell me how can I get it?

Many Thanks

From the FAQ page:

Q: How can I access the metadata for HMP1 metagenomic samples?

A: Metadata for all samples is available through the project catalog. Additional metadata (such as age, medical history, dietary habits, etc.) is kept confidential by the NIH and accessible only to authorized users through NCBI dbGAP. Researchers can request access to this data through this page. Click on the link to request authorized access.

Thanks, genomax. They are asking for an eRA Commons account. Is it possible for an Indian Assistant professor to create an eRA account? Or, it is only possible by a USA citizen? Can I access the daat with soeone who already have an eRA account?

Thanks

It is possible for non-US citizens/residents to acquire eRA commons account. This has to be done first at the institutional level. Whole process is described here: A: Experience with dbGaP controlled access from outside the US?
