Hi guys,

Does anyone know of any software of function that can take a list of Genes and provide some sort of functional annotation? E.g. "Transcription Factor", "Kinase", "Receptor", "Cytoskeleton" etc

Thanks in Advance!

I'm not sure if there are any databases beyond some curated ones that will have one word descriptions of genes such as this. The best you may be able to get are gene descriptions and GO terms, which you can query from biomart through their website or in an extension to a programming language, such as biomaRt in R.

Thanks - disappointing, but I guess that's just reality...

Cheers
