Hello, friends,

Recently, I want to do some research on post-GWAS analysis of prostate cancer. While reading the papers based on different algorithms, it is most important to access the raw dataset for further analysis.

After some searching, I can not find any place to download the data.

So, my question is "Is there any public GWAS dataset of prostate cancer for download?" OR any place/website to offer this service.

The NHGRI offers us the catalog of GWAS paper wihtout the data. And it seems that the WTCCC do not provide the data either.

So, please help me to step further on the study.

Thanks!

Do you have a particular dataset in mind (i.e. paper)? Could you edit your question to add at least one reference, so we can have a look?

the NHGRI offers us a lot of papers of PCA, for example, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22219177, this is a newly publishes GWAS paper while i CAN not find any place to download the data.

As Sander Timmer told me that the dbGAP is a good place to download the data, while lots of GWAS data from NHGRI are not presented in dbGAP.

Some of this data (raw) is indeed protected, but you should able to request it through : http://cgems.cancer.gov/data_access.html and https://dbgap.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/aa/wga.cgi?login=&page=login (this should work at least for the paper you mention above).

For the WTCCC you just can ask for access to the data here:

https://www.wtccc.org.uk/info/access_to_data_samples.shtml

Should be not to hard for a researcher I presume as I expect that part of their funding is stating that they have to share this data.

As you're interested in prostate cancer I don't really understand though why you want to get the WTCCC data as they don't do prostate cancer as far as I know. You might be more interested in a dataset like this one: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/projects/gap/cgi-bin/study.cgi?study_id=phs000207.v1.p1
