Computational Biologist at MOMA Therapeutics
MOMA Therapeutics is looking for an exceptional Computational Biologist
About MOMA Therapeutics
At MOMA Therapeutics, we are discovering the next generation of medicines. We are motivated by a single common goal, to discover and develop innovative new medicines for patients through our singular focus: the therapeutic targeting of molecular machines.
Imagine joining a company where you….
- Will be part of an experienced and resilient team that is collectively unstoppable, trusts one another, and selflessly collaborates
- Will work with incredible colleagues who are committed to the collective discovery of transformative medicines for patients
- Are needed…because the work you will do has strategic impact and because patients are counting on you
In this role you will:
- Drive the computational biology capability across the discovery organization. This critical and dynamic role requires an exceptional ability to generate, interrogate and refine biological hypotheses using large-scale genomic data
- Collaborate with lab scientists and teams across the organization to generate actionable and impactful patient responder hypotheses that can be tested in the lab or the clinic
- Creatively integrate internal and external large-scale datasets to generate unique disease insights that directly impact drug discovery projects
- Regularly present scientific hypotheses and findings to scientific leadership teams
About you:
- You have completed a post-doc and have extensive computational biology experience in academia or the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- You have a PhD in computational biology, oncology, cell biology, genetics, or a similar computational/biology related field
- You have proven experience in effectively working with lab scientists to formulate and answer biological questions through the computational integration and analysis of data
- You're an expert in current and emerging public genomic/proteomic databases (e.g. TCGA, DepMap, gnomAD, UK Biobank, Project Score...)
- You have a solid understanding of statistical/algorithmic principles behind common genomics approaches
- Fluent in R and in one or more additional programming languages (e.g. Python, Julia, Rust)
- You are comfortable working in multiple computing environments including cloud-based platforms
- You understand and value reproducible data analysis approaches (e.g. using Jupyter/Rmd notebooks, version tracking through git, designing/executing nextflow workflows)
- You work hard, you are kind to others, and you enjoy being a part of a collaborative team that delivers

Is this an international opportunity?
Apologies for not including the location but unfortunately no -- although we have mostly been working remotely due to the pandemic, we would prefer team members who would consider moving to the area once the operations are back to normal.
