How to parse Newick into line format?

If I have a Newick tree file with custom values for branches, how can I parse it into line output, similar to that produced by some Phylip programs:

Between        And            Length
-------        ---            ------
   3             2            0.97597
   2             1            0.39020

And so on for the whole tree

Hi, this was a long time ago, but I have the same question. Did you ever figure it out?

Eventually I just ended up making a custom script that breaks it down, using parentheses as a separator...
