Hi everyone,

I'm very new to the genomics field and just done some structural bioinformatics so far. The thing is that I have a short amino acid sequence (about 10 to 15 aa) of a peptide and neither Blast or any other tool recognizes this sequence in the human taxid. I tried to play with Blast parameters as well but nothing came out of it... My question is how can I track the gene and the protein this sequence originated from? Is there a specific protocol for this kind of study? Are there important aspects that need to be taken into account during the analysis?

Thank you!
