Hello
Can anyone please advise the best source of data for next gen sequencing figures. For example how do i find out for the different platforms ( 454 Sequencer, Solexa/Illumina and ABI Solid):
-the number of bases per run
-the cost to sequence a base
-the current doubling time for sequencing
I need the source of these figures to be reliable enough to quote in a paper.
I see figures like these all over the place in journals but there is rarely a source of the data and I would like to be able to be able to attach a definite date to any figures.
I've already seen this great post on this forum about diminishing sequencing costs
thanks a lot
thanks - what is the date associated with those figures?
perhaps i'm being a bit stupid as I've never used a sequencing machine but those figures don't add up. Take the first column: a runtime of 0.42 days and a yield of 0.035 GB does not give a rate of 0.2 GB/day?
looks like it should be row7/row6 - avilella is the one to contact about that
what or who is avilella?
