The Genome Analysis Centre (TGAC) is looking to hire a Sequencing Informatics Group Leader. The Sequencing Informatics Group Leader will manage a team of 4 staff who are responsible for the design, implementation and deployment of the following areas:
- Processing and primary analysis of the data generated by state of the art DNA sequencing instruments and other genomic analysis technologies at TGAC. This includes analysis of signal intensity information, alignments of data to reference genomes and other comparative data sets and undertaking sequence assemblies using a range of sequence assembly tools.
- The Laboratory Management Information System (LIMS) to track projects, samples and monitor progress through the steps of data generation on multiple sequencing platforms.
- Presentation of tracking and analysis data through web interfaces and submission of large datasets to the EBI repositories and other public databases.
- The implementation of TGAC’s policy and standards for large scale data production, processing and delivery to ensure data availability, integrity and security.
The successful applicant will have significant experience with computational processing or analysis associated with DNA sequencing technologies. They will have a strong background in high-level programming languages, and knowledge of data analysis and web development technologies. They will be able to demonstrate experience of successfully managing teams and projects. They must have impeccable presentation skills, be able to work autonomously and to deadlines.
