My former lab (Joe Gray/Paul Spellman) is looking for bioinformatics candidates. Its a great group and a new and exciting initiative that they are building there at the Center for Spatial Systems Biology.
RA position:
An analyst position is available at the Oregon Center for Spatial Systems Biology at OHSU in Portland, OR. The candidate will be part of a research group focused on integrating 'omics' approaches to research cancer biology. Work in the group is interdisciplinary and highly collaborative.
Duties include analysis and curation of high-throughput datasets, such as RNAseq and drug response data. Applicants should have completed relevant course work in molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics, computational biology or related field. Applicants must be highly organized, possess strong communication skills, and be willing to work as part of a team. Knowledge of the programming languages perl, R, and/or MATLAB is highly desirable. Knowledge of SQL and database design is a plus.
Salary commensurate on experience.
Post-doc position:
A post-doctoral position is available at the Oregon Center for Spatial Systems Biology at OHSU in Portland, OR. The candidate will be part of a research group focused on integrating ‘omics’ approaches to research cancer biology. Studies include identifying mechanisms and markers of therapeutic resistance and response, as well as network and pathway analysis. Work in the group is interdisciplinary and highly collaborative.
Applicants should have completed a PhD in molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics, computational biology or related field. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Knowledge of programming languages such as perl, MATLAB or R is desirable. Highly motivated, research- and team-oriented candidates are encouraged to apply.
