Three year PhD studentship available from January 2013. The award will cover student fees and a tax- free stipend starting at 15,590 GBP per annum. Applications due by 16 November 2012.
The PhD project will combine cutting-edge sequencing, genomics and bioinformatics technologies with fieldwork and laboratory experiments to examine the interplay between social evolution and genome evolution. We expect 80-90% of the research to be computer-based. We are thus seeking highly motivated candidates with a strong interest in evolutionary genetics, experience in bioinformatics, biostatistics, molecular evolution or genomics and a willingness to develop expertise in all areas that will be required for the project. The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently, as well as working part of a team.
