I have changed the title, check it out. The way you put it in the first place gave me the impression that you were asking whether repeats are the only responsible for cancer.
I don't think this is necessarily bioinformatics related.
actually it has been studied that Trinucleotide repeats affect DNA replication in vivo.
So please can you expand on the bioinformatics part of this question? Otherwise it will get closed as off topic. I still don't see how this can't be answered with a PubMed search.
as it has been studied that few repeats like CAG polymorphism causes breast cancer. So, if we find the repeats in a particular gene more in number, it means that the gene is highly prone to the disease.
