For a given protein structure, for instance 1AZX, I would like to find all papers that have used this structure. The main criteria is that they state it in the paper text, so sometimes it could happen that they even not cite the paper of the structure. Methods I tried

a) Google Scholar; 1azx + pdb b) same on scopus c) at the pdb database, find 1azx and then go to "literature", but found nothing useful and I am sure there are many papers that used this PDB structure

At the moment I do not find anything useful, any hints?

I think you might have a look at the "Cited by" feature of PubMed, it will give you all the papers that have cited the original paper describing your PDB structure (1AZX comes fromPubMed ID: 9405673):

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?linkname=pubmed_pubmed_citedin&from_uid=9405673

I think it's rather impossible, because it's not a very common practice to include all original references for all PDBs used in paper, it's often include just reference to PDB. Try also pubmed and http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/structure - but I don't think it will really help.
