Gwas Traits Relationship

Hello,

I was trying to find a clever and intelligent way to find a relationship between GWAS traits (related diseases), I found some useful resources but they are not really interactive, it is more for listing relationships (general) and ontologies, like Diseasome website for example.

Is there a way to mine GWAS traits by submitting a trait let's say Heart Failure, and get automatically related traits sorted by some scoring/ranking method ?

Thank you Peixe, it helps certainly to have a general view on a Trait, I will keep looking for other ways of doing this and update this thread.

Thanks

Rad

Ok, I'll keep an eye on it. I will update as well if found something.

Peixe, in case you will be interested to it, I think this tool is solving my problem since I am only interested in GWAS hits/traits, it is simply Hugenavigator (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21610748)

It could nowadays be useful to me! I already knew it, as I am interested as well in disease traits only from GWAS. Thanks! Is always good to rediscover things from old stuff!

+1 Its something I have been (fruitlessly) looking during more than a year...

Maybe you already know, but the closest thing I have found is the MeSH Classification. By using a tree ontology, lets you explore the relationship of a disease with respect to other similar ones. But I do not know if you could get it "automatically". There is another one; BioOntology/BioPortal; from the National Centre for Biomedical Ontology. The explorer for this one, was a bit messy to me, but its very exhaustive as well. I remember I downloaded a plain text file with the full complete ontology for the diseases on this page, but I do not remember where. Besides, It will require to build a program to parse it...

Hope this helps (in some way)!
